The Peralta Foundation

Our Mission

The Peralta Foundation is dedicated to inspiring youth through sports and community service. We ensure equal opportunities for all athletes, promoting personal development regardless of their economic background. By addressing financial barriers, we empower underprivileged youth and build a stronger, more inclusive community.

Vision

The Peralta Foundation's vision is to inspire and connect youth to sports and giving back to our community. We strive to create equal opportunities for all athletes, regardless of economic status, race, gender, or skill level, fostering a love for the game while nurturing personal growth and development. Understanding the barriers that financial hardship can pose, we strive to bridge the gap by offering access to training and involvement in competitive teams. The Peralta Foundation was founded with the goal of serving underprivileged youth, empowering them through sports, and contributing to the building of a stronger community.

Purpose

Our purpose is to engage, develop, and mentor youth through comprehensive basketball training, leagues, teams, camps, clinics, and seasonal events. We focus on helping kids develop skills and healthy habits through sports performance development, personal training, strength and conditioning, and Vertimax sports-specific workouts. Beyond physical training, we emphasize character development, leadership skills, and teamwork, aiming to help our youth succeed both on and off the court. By providing financial assistance and scholarships, we ensure every child has an equal opportunity to develop skills, build lasting relationships, and one day be able to give back to our community.

Financial Assistance

Financial assistance is available for our basketball training group sessions, thanks to generous donor support. Eligibility for this assistance includes approval for Free & Reduced Lunch, SNAP, Medicaid, CHIP, or a statement letter from HUD/Section 8 or WIC. Additionally, consideration is based on income documentation and last year’s tax return.

House of Hustle offers up to 50% off group training sessions through our Needs-Based Financial Assistance program. Scholarships are awarded based on financial need and available funds, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to participate and improve their skills.

About The Peralta Foundation:
Remembering Richard Peralta

The Peralta Foundation is named in honor of Richard Peralta, a dedicated Grand Master in the martial arts self-defense system of Kajukembo. Richard was a true servant leader with a vision to create a place where everyone could learn, no matter their financial situation. He believed in always learning more and getting better at what you do. Richard was always ready to teach anyone who wanted to learn.

Richard Peralta was born on May 9, 1935, in California. He began practicing Kajukembo in 1958-59 at the school of Maestro Aleju Reyes (Senior) in Suisun, California. Richard served in the Air Force for 20 years, stationed in Okinawa, Korea, Thailand, Taiwan, and the Philippines. During these times, he learned about other martial arts while continuing his practice. Richard continued to teach in Fort Worth, Texas, and was the founding president of the Kajukembo Self Defense Systems (K. S. D. S.).

Training with Richard meant experiencing his selflessness. He started teaching in a small warehouse and even his own home, touching lives worldwide with his dedication and service. Though Richard is no longer with us, his legacy of kindness, wisdom, and vision lives on through his students and The Peralta Foundation. His spirit will always guide us.

The Peralta Foundation was founded by his son Dominic Peralta, the co-director, and his daughter-in-law Gina Peralta, the director, in honor of Richard Peralta. Richard's legacy continues to inspire us, and it is in his honor that we strive to create equal opportunities for all athletes and empower underprivileged youth through sports. The foundation remains dedicated to carrying forward his vision and values, ensuring that his impact lives on.
